Welcome to the enchanting Landscape lodge, nestled into the mountain side in Abondance France.
A home away from home that offers you every comfort that you could hope for and a whole lot more!
This Lodge is as stylish as it is comfortable and full to the brim with delicious Alpine touches that make you feel as if you have stepped into a secret little mountain retreat.
Hunker down for a heavenly escape or pop on your skis or hiking boots (season dependant) and look forward to retreating back to this home away from home at the end of a gloriously challenging day in the mountain peaks of the French Alps.
So often when we book airbnb properties, we are treated to a home away from home, which is charming and very comforting and hopefully comfortable, but sometimes what is missing is the touch of luxury and indulgence that we get to enjoy when we check into a hotel.
Those fluffy pillows, piled up abundatly on that perfectly firm but inviting mattress and the silky soft sheets. Such a treat and certainly something that I enjoy. So when we arrived at the Lodge and quickly scouted the area to see who got which bedroom, we were thrilled to find that those wonderful elements of a hotel stay were very much part of this stay too!
There was no fighting for rooms as each and every room was equipped with a stylish set up, an amazingly comfortable and enticing bed and a fabulous ensuite. Each bed had fluffy towels and personalised soaps (personalised to the Lodge, not the person, that would be pretty snazzy!)
It was the epitome of luxury as each member of the family had their own room, even my parents which (ssshhhh) was a real treat for my Dad as mum’s snoring had gotten bad with a bout of cold!

What better way to slow down and relax than to come in from the snow and light the fire.
Grab a negroni and sit back while the kids play cards and Dad watches rugby. Sounds pretty perfect right!
The idea of this trip, was for us as a family to actually try to relax. Not to make any big plans, but to focus on the things that bring us joy and spend some down time together without jumping up with a plan for the day or a list of errands to do a dn jobs to get done.
We only live 1 hour down the road and yet we felt a million miles away. We took our creature comforts with us (campari, chef knives and homemade sourdough!) each to their own right..
We are a family of food lovers, cooks & chefs and I am a photographer. We love the outdoors but we rarely sit still, so this weekend we endeavoured to tap into what might really help us switch off and nurtured the parts of ourselves that can so easily get overlooked.
We cooked, we ate and we were merry!
The lodge can be found in a little hamlet, just outside of the town of Abondance, made famous by its cheese. Nature in the area is not to be missed, you will want to get outdoors and enjoy the weather whatever it offers up.
We went for a walk, played in the snow as we were treated to a bit of snowfall during our stay and of course we had to try out the amazing outdoor bath!
The perfect dip, in my CAPE COVE swimsuit and warmed up post swim with my CAPE COVE changing robe and negroni in hand.
The lodge is the perfect setting for a quiet weekend away, a ski break as the immediate area is a ski resort or maybe take part in a retreat.
We will certainly be back, it was just wonderful!
