OSIP - BRUTON SOMERSET
OSIP
Osip is a tiny, farm-to-table restaurant situated in the heart of rural Somerset.
My brother lives near Bruton, as do a few of my friends and I have become increasingly aware over the last few years that Bruton has drawn in ALOT of very talented and very creatively interesting people and businesses. Many of these are food focused and I have watched in glee and a huge amount of envy and admiration as Bruton has become filled with so many inspiring people and places.
I came across OSIP via Instagram I think. The imagery was wonderful and their ethos and the story behind the youngest Michelin Star chef in the UK drew me in.
I had it on my bucket list. For my husband’s 40th birthday (he is a chef), myself and my parents treated him to an evening dining at the restaurant in Bruton.
We were really looking forward to it. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and at ease. The small and intimate dining room was impressive but not intimidating. The immaculate staff were friendly but not overbearing.
The menu was both beautiful and mouth watering and thankfully, as we wouldn’t have known where to start inn regards to the mouth watering menu that they had, we were having the tasting menu.
The presentation was so considered and thought provoking. The flavours fresh and delicious and not over bearing. A perfect balance was always found.
We had a really impressive wine pairing and finished with a coffee. The evening was relaxed and indulgent, but we did not walk away feeling overwhelmed in a bad way.
I would highly recommend this gorgeous and incredibly inspiring restaurant. It is also paired with a stunning country guest house, called Number 1 Bruton, we are booked in for this Spring, I will report back!
