CHEZ JULIEN - PARIS

PARISIAN CHARM ON THE EDGE OF THE MARAIS

Located in the Marais near the Seine, this little gem is classified as a Historic Monument, established in a colorful old Belle Epoque bakery.

Not long after we moved to France permanently, my husband and I took a trip to Paris. To enjoy the romantic capital of the world together and pre kids! I looked into places to eat, places to drink and places to stay and we had a lovely time.

In particular we enjoyed a indulgently slow lunch alongside Le Seine, in a restaurant called Chez Julien. When we arrived it was the very beginning of the lunch service and there were few people in the dining room. We were met with a warm smile and invited in.

The setting was lovely, the service very friendly and the food was traditional French bistro cuisine and very very tasty.

We went for roasted chicken with potato puree and classic steak frites. The jus over the chicken was absolutely spot on and I still remember that meal to this days.Paired with a good glass of red, this meal proved to be a real win and also a very traditionally French experience which was certainly appropriate for this particular trip.

I believe that I am correct in saying that this place is a popular spot to enjoy an aperitif in the summer sun with their big windows swung open, peering out over the Seine. That sounds pretty ideal to me!
