RISTORANTE PIZZERIA LO SCALO

Gourmet pizzeria on the beautiful Ligurian coastline that is well regarded amongst the locals. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We arrived in Pieve Ligure late in the afternoon and were met by our delightful airbnb hosts, who helped us settle in.

Our airbnb was situated above this restaurant, accessed via a series of steep steps. A steep but short walk. This restaurant was recommended to us and thankfully so as the town was quiet and we had no idea as to where to get our evening’s dinner.

The host created us warmly and led us out onto the veranda, where we enjoyed a stunning view of the ocean.

There were a few others in the restaurant, not many when we arrived (it was early as we were starving and we had a 1 year old with us), but as the evening progressed, more and more people arrived and it was clear that it was a favourite for locals.

Soon enough the restaurant was buzzing with families, couples on dates and groups of friends.

The restaurant was advertised as a Ristorante Pizzeria, but it served some delicious looking alternate dishes also. We all opted for Pizza and glad to have done so as they were just what we were looking for.

Deliciously thin crust, full of flavour and quick to the table.

The service, as is often the case in Italy, was friendly and helpful. We would certainly have gone back another night had they been open and had we not had a large deck with a BBQ on our deck.
